Rehearsal Times

All players are requested to be at rehearsal by 9.45am, and signed in, tuned up and ready to play by 10.15am

9.45am – 10.15am  Sign in and tune up
10.15am (sharp) – 11.30  Rehearsal
11.30am – 11.50am  Break (please bring a snack)
11.50am – 12.45pm  Rehearsal
12.45pm  All players to assist in clearing away chairs, tidying hall, and ready to leave the building by 1.00pm

For the smooth running of rehearsals, could parents please ensure that children are delivered on time, and collected promptly at 1.00pm.

Renting an LVO instrument.

The Liffey  Valley  Orchestra operates a musical instrument rental scheme for existing members of the Orchestra who already own an instrument.


Instruments owned by LVO for renting to players

• 3 x 4/4 cellos
• 2 x 3/4 cellos
• 1 x 1/2 cello
• 2 x 1/2 double bass
• 6 x viola
• 1 x French horn
• 1 x trombone
• 2 x trumpet
• 1 x bassoon
• 1 x bass clarinet
• 1 x clarinet in A
• 1 x piccolo

Percussion instruments available to play:

• Timpani drums
• Bass drum
• Xylophone
• Bodhran
• Electric piano

Terms for rental agreement

• I agree to rent the instrument for one year for the sum of €70, payable in September each year.
• The instrument will be treated with due respect and care while in my possession.
• I will replace any string/bridge/bow/case/soft cover breakages or damage (stringed instruments), or replace any keys/valves/reeds/case (wind instruments).
• I will return the instrument to the LVO in the same condition I received it.
• I agree to have tuition on said instrument.
• When at an appropriate standard I will commit to play with the Liffey Valley Orchestra for a period of two years.

Chamber groups for various types of music will be formed from time to time. For those who are interested, please talk to  Claire Condron, Conductor and Musical Director.

Please submit on Disc showing your name and contact number at LVO sign-in desk on rehearsal days.
